PTA Board Nominations For Election

Thanks so much to all those who came to participate in the Nominations for the PTA Board and 2016-17 PTA Budget review last week. Your help was greatly appreciated. The current nominees are:

Co-Chair –
Secretary – Janhvi Deshpande
Parliamentarian – Stefan Lasiewski
Volunteer Co-Coordinator – Tony Saxe, Matthew Faircloth
Co-Treasurer – Peter Bender
Village Rep – Jamaica Moon, Robin Harley

Your continuing Board Members are:
Co-Treasurer – Carol Pierson
Volunteer Co Coordinator – Ellen Rigsby
Teacher Representative – Beth Trevor
Auditor – Navay Saray
Communications Manager – Kamini Kumar
Historian – Candice Hurth

As you can see all positions have great candidates except for one; Co-Chair.

In order for the PTA to continue to raise money to pay for core educational programs at Jefferson and to hold events that are insured and protected, three officers have to exist. A Chair, a Treasurer, and a Secretary. Without a (Co) Chair, we have no PTA. That means that PTA funding for every program that Jefferson teachers depend on will come to a stop.
Several current Board members have graciously stepped forward and offered to serve as interim Chairs for one year, to make sure the PTA can exist, to help the new Co-Chair and to continue the tradition of passing along a wealth of communal knowledge and experience.

They will only serve that term if there is a Co-Chair.
