Beth Trevor (Lit Coach)

A bay area native, Beth grew up in west Marin in a town called Fairfax.  She received her teaching credential from San Francisco State and has been teaching first grade for about 16 years, the last 9 years here at Jefferson. She strongly believes that first grade is the best grade. As an undergraduate, Beth studied Theater Arts and often incorporates dramatics into her classroom, including but not limited to: very (sometimes overly) theatrical read alouds, visiting fairies, scavenger hunts, and shadow puppetry.

Beth’s family includes her husband Jonah and their 2 sons (who both went to Jefferson) Jasper (14),  Zane (11), and their 2 old cats Malcolm and Momo.

In her spare time Beth enjoys being in nature, reading,  taking pictures, but mostly she enjoys sailing. She is an active member and skipper with the Berkeley sailing club OCSC, and at this moment her favorite boat is a Tartan 4100, because the Beneteaus have too high of a freeboard for the bay. Her dream trip would be sailing around the Greek Islands, but she’s actually always happy on the bay.

She feels honored to be able to work here at Jefferson and says, “ The dedication of the Jefferson staff and families is amazing and this makes it great to come to school each and every day!”
