Amita Shah (Resource Specialist)

Amita Shah is a Resource Specialist and has been at Jefferson since 2012. She is from Southern California and goes there often to visit family and friends. Ms. Shah attended high school in Singapore during which she had the opportunity to travel throughout Southeast Asia and Australia with her soccer team.

She always knew she wanted to work in education and started out working at the university preschool during college. She attended the University of Oregon and UC Irvine for undergrad and obtained her teacher’s credential from Cal State Fullerton. After a few years of teaching, she moved to Honduras for a year, where she taught English, learned how to wash clothes by hand in the “pila”, and how to cook delicious black beans and pupusas.

She lives with her husband and two children who attend Jefferson. Ms. Shah is of Indian and Mexican decent and loves spicy food. She also enjoys traveling, running, and reading.
