Jonah Cohn (PE)

From Jefferson student to Jefferson teacher, Jonah Cohn has come full circle. Born in San Francisco and raised in Berkeley, he is proud and grateful to call the Bay Area his home. Jonah discovered his passion for working with children during a college mentorship at Edgewood Center for Children and Families in San Francisco. This lead to work in an after school program and as a substitute teacher in Oakland for grades K-8.

Jonah went on to earn his teaching credential and Master’s in Education from Mills College, which included student teaching at Jefferson with Rick Kleine. Jonah then taught middle school in Oakland for two years before returning home to Jefferson as a kindergarten teacher in 2013 where he has happily been since. After spending some time teaching kindergarten and first grade, Jonah is very is excited to step into the role of full time PE teacher!

In his free time, Jonah enjoys cooking and eating healthy food, training jiu jitsu, and most any outdoor activity. He also loves to travel to new places, read, play and listen to music, and most of all, spend quality time with friends and family.
