Anna Wong (Kindergarten)

Anna Wong grew up in San Francisco Chinatown. She remembers fondly marching each year in the Chinese New Year parade, seeing movies about the monkey king and her parents treating her to a comic book after the movies.

Mrs. Wong has been teaching kindergarten in the Chinese Bicultural Program since 1991.The program ended in 2009. She received her BA in Art and her credential from SF State.  She has been teaching kindergarten for twenty seven years and two years in a SF high school before coming to Jefferson. Her four children all attended Jefferson’s bicultural program as well, and her two sons are in a band called Nine Pound Shadow.  She is also a proud mother working side by side with her daughter, Ms. Siobhan.  Her youngest daughter lives in LA.

After a day of teaching, Mrs. Wong goes home to stretch, clean, prepare dinner, and have a cup of tea and knit while watching Korean dramas. She also likes to quilt, sculpt, create mosaics, bead, knit and felt. In addition to art, she enjoys walking, reading, going out to eat, traveling, seeing movies and live performances.

She has three grandsons. They keep their grandparents on their toes but are rollicking fun. She enjoys spending time with them and sees them daily.  She loves being with her family and seeing friends too.
